Johnn’s career combines years of public service and private legal practice. As an Assistant District Attorney in New Mexico from 2010 to 2021, he prosecuted nearly every type of crime on the books. Over time, he took on leadership roles like Chief Deputy and Deputy District Attorney, where he worked on facilitating programs aimed at treatment and diversion, believing that individuals deserve second chances. These roles gave him valuable experience in community-focused legal solutions and alternative approaches to justice.

Outside of practicing law, Johnn is actively involved in the legal community. He serves as Chair of the New Mexico Bar Association Historical Committee, showing his dedication to preserving New Mexican legal history. His previous services include serving on the Board of the New Mexico Cannabis Law Section, serving on the New Mexico Bar Ethics Committee, being a member of the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and working with the New Mexico District Attorney’s Association. These positions highlight his commitment to legal ethics, professional development, and improving advocacy in New Mexico.
